DIY Brass Induction Annealer

While surfing reloading forums and sub-reddits, you’ll encounter a few different ways to anneal brass.  Annealing is the process of heating a material to set temperature for a set amount of time and then allowing it to cool back to room temperature in order to improve ductility and reduce brittleness.  Essentially, if properly annealed, the resizing process of reloading will cause less strain on the cartridge and improve its usable life. I didn’t have much interest in annealing until I stumbled upon the induction method.  You can quickly heat the brass in a very controlled and repeatable manner using eddy currents.

Disclaimer –
This is an ongoing project that was started before the creation of this website. I’m in the process of working backwards to recreate the documentation, but there may be gaps present

Current Status: Work in Progress

- Needs coil with much tighter radius.
- Water reservoir to help bleed trapped air in cooling system.

This is not a comprehensive list of every part. Many of the small fasteners, connectors and misc. pieces are not accounted for in the BOM as they were what I had on hand already.
